Obtaining certification demonstrates a dedication to your profession and offers a base of useful information that you can bring back to your district. In an effort to streamline some certification programs, the MSBO Professional Development Committee recommended the following changes to MSBO’s certification programs.
 
Chief Financial Officer, Business Office Manager, Business Office Specialist, Information Systems/Technology for the Business Manager: After reviewing the course content between Information Systems and Technology for the Business Manager, they were very similar due to the integration of technology with the business office applications. The committee agreed to drop the Information Systems class. The committee agreed to add Collective Bargaining Agreement, Contracts since CFO, BOM, and BOS are part of the bargaining unit. This class will be offered at the MSBO Annual Conference in April 2010 to accommodate anyone needing to fulfill this requirement.
 
Food Service Director: Remove the Insurance and Risk Management and replace with Performance Evaluations for Personnel.
 
Transportation Director: A more collaborative effort between MSBO and MAPT has been taken with the Transportation Director Certification. If you are already in the program, we have made a significant effort to make changes in your favor. You should have received a letter with these changes. Any new people starting the program will start the new program.
 
View your MSBO or MIEM SB-CEU credits and check the status of your certification online. Just login and click on the SB-CEU link located under your name in the blue profile box. Use your MSBO login and password on the MSBO page and your MIEM login and password on the MIEM page.
